After what seems like an eternity of waiting, Sirius XM has finally unveiled the first screenshot of their upcoming, official Sirius XM iPhone application.

The shot (pictured above) reveals fairly little about the long awaited application itself but does give fans a glimpse of what’s to come. Sirius XM CEO, Mel Karmazin gave a presentation regarding some of the functionality that can be expected of the App, highlighting features such as the right-hand detail buttons located next to channel listings and noting a “Shopping” page.

The Powerpoint slides used by Karmazin at the meeting can be viewed through the link belopw.

the iPhone app is now released but seems to be just at the US App Store, not the Canadian. I downloaded from there but it requires a US Sirius account to actually use the app. Any news if Canadian customers will be able to subscribe to the iPhone stream (btw, it is an extra $2.99 per month in the U.S., streams at 128 kbps, and has almost all the channels but don’t seem to see Howard Stern listed there at all.)
