Pioneer and Sirius Team Up With XMP3 But Will Canadians Be Left Out in the Cold?

Pioneer and Sirius XM have teamed up to release the new XMP3 portable satellite radio. Billed as the world’s smallest satellite radio receiver the XMP3 certainly looks exciting but may not see release in Canada due to a continued lack of merger between Sirius and XM.

The XMP3 hosts multi-channel recording capability and 2GBs of internal storage (which adds up to roughly 100 hours of programming).

XMP3 has just been released in the U.S. but no word of Canadian release has yet been confirmed. Pioneer conceived of the portable radio as part of an agreement between itself and Sirius XM, a combined effort that isn’t yet possible with the continued schism of XM and Sirius in Canada.
