Sirius Radio has now released information regarding the patching of a security hole in the online network which has allowed canceled subscribers access to the service for the past six years. Through the aid of TippingPoint Technologies the bug has finally been fixed allowing the story to break without further exploitation of the flaw.
The problem was discovered after TippingPoint launched their Zero Day project which rewarded hackers for knowledge regarding security bugs they have found or knew.
Although the flaw has existed since the initial launch of Sirius Radio it has now been fixed in an effort to ensure that only legal subscribers are able to enjoy access to the network.
